We are a nation which celebrates every little joy. At Sprouts we celebrate diversity, family and happiness. Be it occasions that bring you closer to your family like Grandparents’ Day, or festivals like Diwali, Christmas, Pongal, Eid and even Halloween, every celebration leaves the child with new stories to share and new experiences to learn from. Needless to say, the Sprouts family has a great time singing and dancing and listening to stories during many of these celebrations. We also love to include the parent community to join in the fun!
The beauty in celebrating festivals goes a long way where children talk about festivals, special foods, songs outside school too. Festivals and events taking place throughout the year are Father’s Day, Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan, Krishna Jayanthi, Grandparents Day, Teacher’s Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Vijayadasami, Halloween, Diwali, Sports Day – Childrens Day, Christmas, Pongal, Thank you Day, Annual Day, Holi. The general atmosphere in the school also becomes festive when children are allowed on special days to come in festive attire. Children will recognize that countries and religions have celebrations unique to their culture and beliefs.
After a year of little festivals and celebrations, the grand celebration at Sprouts is the Annual Day with dance, music and even drama. Each annual day in the month of February is uniquely themed and the practice sessions are woven into the child’s day taking care not to disturb his daily routine and work schedule. The Sports Day in the First term too is celebrated uniquely with Teamwork and Participation given more prominence than winning. Each child takes home a medal with pride.
